John Cernuto

"Miami" John Cernuto ( born January 10, 1944 in Jersey City, New Jersey) is an American professional poker player.

Early years

Before he started his poker career, he made at Florida State University, a degree in finance expert. After graduation, he worked as an air traffic controller. When Ronald Reagan fired the air traffic controllers during a strike in 1981, he made the game of poker a career.

World Series of Poker

He reached his former final table of a $ 5,000 Seven Card Stud tournament at the World Series of Poker 1989. With him, David Sklansky and Humberto Brenes at the final table and he reached the fourth place.

After five more placements in the prize money he won his first bracelet. In the World Series of Poker 1996, he won a $ 1,500 Seven Card Stud tournament. He also won 1997 $ 2,000 No Limit Hold'em tournament and 2002, a $ 1,500 Limit Omaha event.

Cernuto could reach a final table at the World Poker Tour. He was fifth in 2005 at the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure poker.
