John Digweed

John Digweed (born 1967 in Hastings, England ) is one of the most successful DJs and music producers in the field of progressive trance and house music.

Biography

Even as a youth he practiced at home the DJ craft. In Hastings ( England), he organized the successful party series Bedrock Nights. But when he moved to London in 1987, remained unanswered in most of its applications Clubs. Only in 1992 was the Renaissance interest and booked him. His style did not suit the then current conception of House and was apostrophized in the media as " Epic House ". 1995 mixte Digweed together with DJ Sasha the first Renaissance compilation that became a milestone of the genre. At the same time he released productions under the label Bedrock. The track For What You Dream Of was in the soundtrack of the film Trainspotting - added new heroes and reached the top 40 of the British music charts.

The duo Sasha & Digweed has become a household name in the house scene and as a resident DJ at New York's Twilo club they were able to consolidate its reputation around the world, thanks to the ongoing and successful mix compilations Northern Exposure. In the following years there were regular events under the title Bedrock night in London's Heaven 's Club, which became known in the scene across Europe.

Published in 1999, Digweed his second Global Underground mix CD (recorded at a party in Hong Kong) and remixes for Danny Tenaglia and Terminal Head. With the production Heaven Scent he had one of the biggest club hits of the year.

In 2005, he finished sixth in the Top 100 DJ Poll of the English magazine DJ Mag 2001, he had already reached in the same survey, the first place and was chosen so that at the best DJ in the world.

Digweed has its own weekly radio show " Transitions " on the British radio station Kiss100. The show has established itself as one of the most successful dance shows in England and is transmitted via the internet in the whole world. The two-hour show consists of one half of a set of John Digweed himself and the other half of a set by a guest DJ. Among others were already scene greats such as Deep Dish, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren as a guest DJ on the show.
