John Glover (footballer)

John William Glover ( born October 28, 1876 in West Bromwich, † April 20, 1955 in Dudley, Jack Glover ) was an English footballer. As Fullback he won in 1901 with Liverpool, the English Championship.

Life

The Glover was born and raised in West Bromwich began his career in 1897 at Blackburn Rovers. From 1900 he played at Liverpool, with whom he won the English championship in the 1900/01 season. 1904 Glover moved to Birmingham City, where he played until 1908. This was followed by two years at unterklassigen Club Brierley Hill Alliance and 1910 end of his career.

Overall, Glover had played 175 top-flight appearances for Liverpool and Birmingham.

After the end of his sporting career Glover owned a pub in Dudley. He also represented the county of Shropshire in the bowls. He died in 1955 at the age of 78 years.
