John Kodwo Amissah

John Kodwo Amissah ( born November 27, 1922 in Elmina, Ghana, † September 22, 1991 ) was Archbishop of Cape Coast.

On December 11, 1949 John Kodwo Amissah received the sacrament of Holy Orders. On December 7, 1957 Amissah was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Cape Coast and Titular Bishop of Bencenna. The bishop ordained of Ghanaians on June 16, 1957 by the Archbishop of Cape Coast, William Thomas Porter, SMA; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Kumasi, André van den Bronk SMA, as well as the Bishop of Accra, Joseph Oliver Bowers SVD. Amissah was appointed on 19 December 1959 as a successor to the retiring William Thomas Porter at the age of 37 years as Archbishop of Cape Coast.

Amissah attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council 1962-1965. He died 68 years old in a road accident in Ghana.
