Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi

The Archdiocese of Kumasi (Latin: Archidioecesis Kumasiensis ) is a location in Ghana Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Kumasi. It includes some western districts of the Ashanti Region.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic Vicariate of Kumasi with the Breve Cum diffusis on February 2, 1932 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Gold Coast. On April 18, 1950, was raised to the rank of diocese and it was the Archdiocese of Cape Coast assumed as suffragan.

With the bull Ad Totius dominici it was collected on 22 December 2001 in the rank of Metropolitanerzbistums.
