John Laughland

John C. Laughland ( born September 6, 1963) is a British philosopher, journalist and author.

Life

Laughland studied German literature, philosophy and Russian Studies at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich and the University of Oxford. At Oxford he earned a Ph.D. in philosophy. He habilitated in 2003 at the University of Marne-la -Vallee outside Paris. He then taught philosophy and political science at the Institut d' études politiques de Paris, University of Paris III and at the Libera Università degli Studi Per l' Innovazione e le Organizzazioni in Rome. He is a research fellow at the University of Paris IV and currently teaches (as of 2013) at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon- Sorbonne. Since 2008, Laughland study director of the Institute for Democracy and Cooperation in Paris and Europe Director of the European Foundation in London.

He wrote, inter alia, contributions worked for peculiarly free, The Guardian, The Monist, National Review, The Spectator, The Times, The Wall Street Journal, The World and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
