John Parkhurst

John Parkhurst (* 1512 in Guildford / Surrey; † February 2nd 1575 in Norwich / Norfolk ) was Bishop of Norwich ( 1560-1675 ).

Life

He was educated at Magdalen College School and at Merton College, Oxford. The later Bishop of Salisbury, John Jewel was during Parkhurst's function as a Fellow at Merton College, his student. During and after a stay in Zurich in 1550 he maintained a friendly relationship with Josias Simler and Heinrich Bullinger. His successor in office was Edmond freak.
