John Roe (rugby union)

John Roe ( born April 10, 1977 in Brisbane ) was an Australian rugby union player. He played on the position of number eight in the Queensland Reds in the international Super 14 competition Province, and was from 2005 to 2007 Captain of the team. He walked in the Brisbane Boys' College to school. In addition, he has successfully completed his medical studies in 2006.

Career

He played his first game for Queensland in 1999. 2001 he made his debut in the Super 12 for the Queensland Reds in a game against the Hurricanes, a New Zealand provincial team from Wellington. Overall, he played for his province in 82 matches in the competition, scoring 85 points (17 attempts).

2003 Roe played his first international match for the Australian national team, the Wallabies, against Namibia during a group game of the Rugby World Cup at home.

He completed his 50th game for the Queensland Reds in a 2004 Super 14 game against the Crusaders. Four years later, in 2008, he ran against the Brumbies in his 100th game for the province. In addition, he was named in the 2007 season as the best player of his province.

After a serious shoulder injury Roe finished his rugby career in 2008 at the age of 31 years.
