John Tropea

John Tropea ( born January 7, 1946 in New York City ) is a guitarist of the fusion jazz and music producer who has also appeared as a studio musician.

Tropea plays since the age of twelve guitar. After studying at Berklee College of Music in 1967, he returned to his home town back. He toured with Eumir Deodato and can be heard on his hit album Prelude and the following recordings. In 1974 he played on Van Morrison's album Veedon fleece. In 1975, he released his first solo album Tropea, the more solo albums followed. He worked with musicians such as Warren Bernhardt, David Sanborn, Randy Brecker, Michael Brecker, Steve Gadd, Anthony Jackson, Ralph MacDonald, Don Grolnick, and Richard Tee and also belonged to later occupations of the Blues Brothers. Furthermore, he was with Laura Nyro, Harry Chapin ( Cat's in the Cradle ), Paul Simon (50 Ways to Leave Your Lover ), Eric Clapton ( Journey Man ), Spyro Gyra ( Morning Dance ) or Dr. John in the studio. Also he has made productions for the television and advertising.
