John Williams (snooker referee)

John Williams ( born June 8, 1937 in Wrexham ) is a Welsh snooker referee.

Williams was referee in eleven World Cup Finals; nine of them held since 1977 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield since the World Cup. Special recognition gained the final of the World Cup in 1985, that went over the maximum possible distance of 35 frames and the UK aufstellte several ratings records. His last World Cup final, he led in 2002. Even then he was still active as an arbitrator, most recently at the World Seniors Championship.
