Jon Jönsson ( born July 8, 1983 in Kristianstad ) is a Swedish football player.

Career

Jönsson played in youth at IFK Hässleholm before he was discovered by talent scouts and moved to the youth department of Tottenham Hotspur in 1999. In addition to the transfer fee of around £ 70,000 substitute Peter Crouch on loan for a year to Sweden.

In England, he could not prevail in 2001 and returned back to Sweden, where he hired at Malmö FF. With the club he became Swedish champion in 2004. In the following season, he was, however, awarded to Landskrona BoIS. After his return he was still six times at MFF for use, but then switched during the season for league rivals IF Elfsborg, in which he celebrated his second championship title. At the end of the season he was selected by the coaches of the Allsvenskan for defensive player of the year. After the first half of the season the following season, yet played in Sweden, he was hired by the French first division club FC Toulouse in the summer of 2007. Here, however, he could not sit down and play at Brøndby IF in Denmark since the season 2008/ 09.

Jönsson played for various youth teams in Sweden, including 27 games for the U21 national team. In the South American tour in early 2007 he was part of the contingent of the Swedish national team, but did not play.
