Jonathan Kuck

Jonathan Kuck (born 14 March 1990 in Urbana, Illinois ) is an American speed skater who specializes in long distance. He started at the age of ten years with the speed skating.

As a 20 -year-old Kuck took his first World Championship medal in the all-around 2010 World Cup in Heerenveen. With only 0.64 points behind winner Sven Kramer, he missed only just a huge sensation.

Kuck took part in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. In the team pursuit, he won the silver medal along with Chad Hedrick and Brian Hansen.

In his first solo -distance World Cup 2011 in Inzell Kuck, together with Brian Hansen and Trevor Marsicano world champion in the team pursuit.

At the 2013 World Championships in Sochi Kuck is involved during the 1500 meter race in a collision with the mitfavorisierten Kjeld Nui. After a false start Nui was when he crashed on the way back to the start with the running on the inside lane Kuck frontal.

Kuck studied physics at the University of Illinois.
