Jönköping Municipality

Jönköping is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Jönköping County, the historical province of Småland. The main town of the municipality is Jönköping.

History

In the 1971 municipal reform the church from the three cities of Jonkoping, Gränna and Huskvarna was the market town ( Linköping ) Norrahammar and ten rural communities formed. Already at this time Jönköping and Huskvarna had grown together.

Coat of arms

Description: In red are on a siebenzinnigen silver wall with halbgezogenem silver Gates three silver four towers battlements, which is middle of the higher tower on a blue Wellenschildfuß. All windows and archways are black.
