JoongAng Ilbo

The JoongAng Ilbo is a South Korean newspaper. It belongs, together with the Chosun Ilbo and Dong -a Ilbo of the three largest-circulation daily newspapers in South Korea.

History

The newspaper was founded in 1965 by Lee Byung- Chull, the founder of the largest South Korean company Samsung. She has since been based in the South Korean capital Seoul. Since 2007, appears a Sunday edition of the JoongAng Sunday.

Korea JoongAng Daily

The English edition is titled Korea JoongAng Daily. She is one of three published daily English-language daily newspapers in South Korea, in addition to the Korea Times and the Korea Herald. The Korea JoongAng Daily is currently sold together with the International Herald Tribune. Publisher is Lho Chol -soo and editor in chief Kim Dong- kyun.

Marathon

The newspaper organizes since 1999 the JoongAng Seoul Marathon, in competition with the organized by the Dong -a Ilbo Seoul International Marathon.

Criticism

It is criticized along with the other two major, also conservative Chosun Ilbo newspaper Dong- a Ilbo and as ChoJoongDong (Korean 조중동, CJD).
