Jörg Schmadtke

Jörg Schmadtke ( born March 16, 1964 in Dusseldorf ) is a former German football goalkeeper and current sports manager, who took over in the meantime also functions as a football coach. Since July 2013 he is Managing Director with responsibilities Sport at FC Cologne 1.

Career

Player

After graduation Schmadtke began a degree in mechanical engineering, later he studied Business Administration. Schmadtke played as a goalkeeper for Fortuna Dusseldorf (until 1993 ), SC Freiburg ( 1993-1997 ) and Bayer 04 Leverkusen (1997 /98). He completed 266 games in the Bundesliga, while nine saw a yellow and a red card. In the 2nd Bundesliga, he was employed in 109 games ( two yellow cards ). From 6 September 1998, he was for a few weeks yet goalkeeper for Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bundesliga stayed there but without use.

Coach

On 10 November 1998 he was in Mönchengladbach assistant coach on the side of Rainer Bonhof. Already on 31 August 1999 Schmadtke was re- released after Bonhof had just asked previously to the dissolution of his contract. Short term Schmadtke worked for a U.S. sports facility company. In January 2001, he was goalkeeping coach at Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Football Manager

From 1 December 2001 Schmadtke was officially sports director of debt with around 4 million euros Alemannia Aachen GmbH. The Alemannia reached in 2004 with a small budget, the DFB Cup final and played 2004/ 05 success in the UEFA Cup. Alemannia achieved a profit of € 4 million and was debt free for the first time in its history. 2006 managed to move up to the Bundesliga. Already in April 2006, when the rise of practically being established, the euphoria in the city was immense and decency of the resolution approving the construction of the stadium, Schmadtke urged to little more planning preview. From July 2009 to June 2013 was Schmadtke sports director of Hannover 96 On 18 March 2011, he was converted to a fixed-term contract of indefinite duration, besides, he was now sporting director.
