Jorge Rubén Lugones

Jorge Rubén Lugones SJ ( born July 31, 1952 in Veinticinco de Mayo ) is an Argentine priest and bishop of Lomas de Zamora.

Life

Jorge Rubén Lugones joined the Congregation of the Jesuits, put his profession on 22 April 1979, received on 3 December 1988, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 2 June 1999 to the Bishop of Oran and he was introduced to the office on August 6 of that year. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio SJ, on July 30th of the same year; Co-consecrators were Juan José Iriarte, Archbishop Emeritus of Resistencia, and Carmelo Juan Giaquinta, Archbishop of Resistencia.

On 14 October 2008 he was appointed Bishop of Lomas de Zamora and introduced into the office on 22 November of the same year.
