Jorochito

Jorochito is a country town in the department of Santa Cruz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Jorochito is a central place in the canton Jorochito and second largest town in the county ( bolivian: Municipio) El Torno in the province of Andrés Ibáñez. The city lies at an altitude of 567 m on the right bank of the River Pirai.

Geography

Jorochito is located in the humid tropical climate on the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental. The region was covered before colonization by subtropical rainforest, but today it is mostly cultivated land.

The mean average temperature of the region is 24 ° C, the annual precipitation is 950 mm (see climate chart La Angostura ). Northwest of Jorochito and 42 road kilometers away is Santa Cruz, the capital of the department.

From the center of Santa Cruz from the paved highway Ruta 7 performs as a four-lane " Grigota Avenue " in a southwesterly direction to La Guardia and on about El Torno and Limoncito after Jorochito. Fifteen kilometers south of the city leaves the road at La Angostura lowlands and climb in a westerly direction over the Cordillera Samaipata to Cochabamba.
