José Dolores Estrada

José Dolores Estrada Vado ( born March 16, 1792 in Nandaime; † August 12, 1869 in Managua ) was a Nicaraguan military, who in 1856 at the Hacienda San Jacinto hit the filibustiere.

Life

José Dolores Estrada Vado, son of Timoteo Estrada and Gertrudis Vado Lugo, was a professional soldier.

In 1824 he supported Juan Argüello del Castillo y Guzmán. In these battles, he is 35 years Sergeant.

The Partido Democratico had commissioned in 1854 William Walker in Nicaragua to fight the Partido Conservador. On September 14, 1856, he commanded as colonel of a Nicaraguan unit with 120 to 160 soldiers. With this he hit about 300 mercenaries under the command of Byron Cole the military service, which brought Walker to Nicaragua at the Hacienda San Jacinto in the municipality of Tipitapa.

The earthquake in 1932, his ashes were rescued by José Antonio Ortega y Lezcano. 1999, the 130th anniversary of his death, the ash in the presence of Arnoldo Alemán, Joaquín Cuadra and Miguel Obando Bravo was reburied.
