Josh Klinghoffer

Joshua Adam " Josh " Klinghoffer ( born October 3, 1979) is an American multi-instrumentalist and music producer. Since the departure of John Frusciante (2008 ), he has worked as a lead guitarist of the Californian funk rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. He also founded the experimental band Dot Hacker and was a member of Ataxia ( with John Frusciante ), The Bicycle Thief and Warpaint.

Even time he recorded songs ( with Bob Forrest ) and can do a show to this day live experience. So he took songs and toured with artists such as Gnarls Barkley, PJ Harvey, Beck, Butthole Surfers, Michael Rother, Sparks, Golden Shoulders, Bob Forrest and Vincent Gallo.

Since 2002, Klinghoffer was working again intensively with John Frusciante together, resulting in a lasting friendship was born until today.

Life

At 15, Josh Klinghoffer dropped out of school and got more and more into the music scene of Los Angeles. Looking back, he describes himself during this time itself as " [ the ] little music nerd from around the corner who dropped out of school and throughout the day always only played guitar ." At just 17, he joined the band, The Bicycle Thief, the music project of Thelonious Monster frontman Bob Forrest. Here Klinghoffer gained his first studio experience.

In 2002, he began writing songs with the former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante. The first joint song " Omission " was released in 2004 on Frusciante's album Shadows Collide With People. More recordings followed, and together they took Frusciante's solo albums The Will to Death, Inside of Emptiness and A Sphere in the Heart of Silence on and with the Fugazi bassist Joe Lally under the band name Ataxia albums Automatic Writing and AW II no later than this time designated Frusciante Klinghoffer as a very close and dear friend. "

2007 was Klinghoffer guest musicians on the Stadium Arcadium tour of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and contributed additional guitar, vocal and keyboard parts at.

The following year, 2008, he then founded his own band called Dot Hacker. As the frontman, songwriter, guitarist and pianist, he released two albums to date.

Already in 2009, Klinghoffer started the recordings for the 10th studio album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers participate. Since 2 January 2010, he is listed as a permanent member and Frusciante permanent replacement. Eleven months later, the Red Hot Chili Peppers began recording their album in the studio. Here Klinghoffer is next to guitar tracks, with vocals and keyboards present. The recordings were completed on March 18 and handed over to the mixing. Named I'm with You, was released on August 29, 2011.

He is to date the youngest ever recorded artist, who was inserted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
