Juan Cruz Álvarez

Juan Cruz Álvarez ( born November 20, 1985 in Arrecife ) is an Argentine racing driver.

With eight years Álvarez began his career in 1994 in karting. In 2001, the Argentine moved into formula racing and immediately became third in the Argentine Formula Renault. 2002 Alvarez secured the runner-up title in this series. Then, moving in 2003 Álvarez to Europe. For Meycom he took part in the World Series Light and became a master of this series. The next year he moved to the World Series by Nissan and was starting for Gabord Competición seventh overall. After good results in the junior race series Álvarez moved in 2005 to the newly founded GP2 Series at Campos Racing. Alvarez scored four and a half points and finished with a 18th place overall in a better place than his team- mate Sergio Hernández.

After Alvarez was active in any major racing series in 2006, he started in 2007 in the Argentine Top Race V6 championship and was fifteenth in the standings. The following year, the Argentine remained in this series and came after nine races of the season the sixteenth overall.
