Juan Ignacio Sánchez

Juan Ignacio "Pepe" Sánchez Brown ( born May 8, 1977 in Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine professional basketball player. The 1.93 m tall point guard was with Rubén Wolkowyski the first Argentine in the NBA and was founded in 2004 with the national team Olympic champion.

When he was two years have been for Deportivo Roca and Estudiantes de Bahía Blanca active in Argentina, moved Sánchez in the 1996 NCAA team to Temple University. Then he signed as the first Argentine to a contract in the NBA, with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks, he was but little used. Therefore, Sánchez was active in the following season for Panathinaikos, where he won the Euro League. Then he tried it one more time in the NBA, but he came in the 2002/03 season to a total of only nine starts for the Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors put him even once in the league. Sanchez returned to Europe and has been active in Spain since 2003. After a year at Alicante Etosa he signed with Unicaja Malaga, where he stayed for three years and in 2005 the Spanish Cup and the following year won the championship. Sánchez then moved to FC Barcelona, and after a season at Real Madrid. Finally, he returned to Argentina, where he played briefly for Obras Sanitarias and by 2013 again for Estudiantes de Bahia Blanca.

With the Argentina national team Sánchez reached the final of the 2002 World Cup and the semifinals of the 2006 World Cup., He celebrated his biggest success with the Olympic victory in 2004, for the 2008 Games, however, he no longer was available.
