Juan Luis Barrios

Juan Luis Barrios ( Juan Luis Barrios Nieves; * June 24, 1983 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican middle and long distance runners.

About 1500 m he won at the Central American and Caribbean Championships 2001 bronze and 2003 gold as well as at the Central American and Caribbean Games 2002 Gold. In 2005 he was Central America and Caribbean champion in the 5000m, and in 2006 he won double gold above 1500 m and 5000 m in the Central American and Caribbean Games.

At the Pan American Games in 2007 in Rio de Janeiro, he won two silver medals in 1500 m and 5000 m. Also at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka, he started over both distances. About 1500 m he reached the semifinals, about 5000 m, he finished 14th place.

In 2008 he won the Puerto de Veracruz Half Marathon. At the Olympic Games in Beijing, he ran over 5000 m in seventh place, and the Great North Run, he finished fifth.

At the 10,000 - meter race at the World Championships in Berlin in 2009, he finished 14th place. In 2010 he defended both above 1500 m as well as over 5000 m his title at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
