Judge (Band)

Judge is a U.S. hardcore -punk band from New York City. She is considered one of the most influential groups of the New York - straight-edge scene, and existed from 1987 until 1991. 2013 Reunion was announced.

Band History

After Mike Ferraro got out with Youth of Today, he founded along with John Porcell ( also Youth of Today / Project X ) the group Judge. The first single New York Crew was recorded by him on drums and vocals and Porcell on bass and electric guitar alone and originally published on Porcells label Schism. In the Underground Hardcore Punk came with influences from metal and Oi! in combination with militant, hard texts very well. In particular, the cover version of the song Lightning Warriors, as well as the theme song should be live classic.

They then signed to Revelation Records and released the single in a re-recorded version directed by Don Fury. For the first album Sammy Siegler ( the successor of Ferraro at Youth of Today ) rose a. The first recorded version was very bad, because the band was in a tight spot: Porcell had a prolonged European tour with Youth of Today on. The band rejected this version, but the record company they brought own authority with the title of Chung King Can Suck it. The actual debut LP Bringing It Down was released a short time later, produced by Don Fury and Matt Pinkus on bass.

In a large-scale tour, it always came back to riots. Many gigs ended in wild brawls and had to be canceled. Disgusted with the hardcore scene and the business policy of Revelation Records Ferraro decided to disband the group. An EP called There Will Be Quiet including Led Zeppelin Cover When the Levy Breaks was the last release of the group.

2005 Discography CD was titled What It Meant: The Complete Discography on Revelation Records.

Later, Mike Ferraro brought under the name of Mike Judge and Old Smoke out an acoustic album called Sights on Revelation Records. John Porcell Founded in 2009, the band Bringing It Down, the coverte live primarily Judge songs. 2009 was the group with Bold on a European tour.
