Juha Malinen

Juha Malinen (* July 16, 1958 in Oulu) is a Finnish football coach.

Career

Juha Malinen was never active as a professional football player. In 1978 he enrolled at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Oulu. During his work as a teacher, he became interested in soccer training, as show in this section the impact of its work very quickly. In 1986, he became coach of the football team at Kastelli sports high school. To the team at the time included the later Finnish National Antti Niemi, Mika Nurmela or Ville Nylund. By the way, he taught sports and arts at a nearby school for the hearing impaired. With an ultra- defensive tactics set Malinens team reached a surprising fifth place in the College World Series in 1989. During his time at Kastelli sports high school, he also worked on the coaching staff at Pelimiehet and Oulu Luistinseura. There was a commitment to Rauman Pallo, where he was followed by his young proteges Niemi and Nurmela. In the summer of 1990, the Finnish Football Association appointed him coach of the U -15 and U-16 national teams.

After 3 years Juha Malinen returned in 1993 to his home city of Oulu back and coached the FC Oulu. Despite the rise of the club was struggling with huge financial problems. Therefore Malinen moved on to league rivals Turun Palloseura, with whom he entirely surprising in his first season in 1994 won the Finnish Cup football. Although his team was able to establish in subsequent years in the league, Malinen changed again within the first Finnish League to Myllykosken Pallo -47. In his new club he had greater financial flexibility and could therefore put together a better team. This established himself in the top tier of the league, but could not win a championship. In 2004, Malinen dedicated a new task and led the freshly relegated into the Ykkönen traditional club Kuopio PS back to the top flight again. Despite the integration of promising young players like Pyry Kärkkäinen Berat Sadik or the club could not hold the class and rose again from 2006. Curiously, won Kuopio before the start of the season the League Cup.

After his release, the Finn left his home for the first time and trained from January to July 2007, the team of Kazakhstan's first division club Shakhtar Karaganda. He led the club to 3rd place in the table and thus to qualify for the UEFA Cup in 2008/09. Then Malinen briefly took over as coach of Kazakh U-21 national team. In 2008 he returned to Finland and trained since the AC Oulu. After a fourth place in the table in the first year he reached the club in 2009 the championship in the second division and thus promotion to the First Division. The squad also Mika Nurmela was again. In the first Finnish Juha Malinen League with his team managed the sporting league. Because of financial problems Oulu received but no license and had to start in the second division again. Behind the FC Lahti and local rivals Oulu Palloseura the club in 2011 was third. Goalscorer in Malinens team was newcomer Randy Edwini - Bonsu, who was then obliged by the German second division club Eintracht Braunschweig. Malinen left the club at the end of the season.

In September 2012, he took over as coach at relegation-threatened FC Haka. At the end of the season of FC Haka was nonetheless Table and Malinen received a new contract.
