Júlio Tavares Rebimbas

Júlio Tavares Rebimbas ( born January 21, 1922 in Bunheiro, Murtosa, Portugal, † December 6, 2010 in Boavista (Porto ), Portugal ) was a Roman Catholic priest and bishop of Porto, which led to the personal title of archbishop.

Life

Júlio Tavares Rebimbas, son of a small farmer and a seamstress, attended the Colégio de Ermesinde and then the seminaries of Vilar in Porto, Olivais in Lisbon and Santa Joana, Aveiro. On 29 June 1945 he received by the Bishop of the Diocese of Aveiro, João Evangelista de Lima Vidal, the ordination. From 1945 on, he was a curate in the parish Ilhavo, 1946-1949 Pastor of Avelãs de Cima and Avelãs de Caminho in Anadia. Then he returned to Ílhavo and was there from 1949 to 1965 worked as a pastor. He died on December 6, 2010 and was buried on 7 December at the Cathedral of Porto.
