K.F.C. Vigor Wuitens Hamme

Koninklijke Football Club Vigor Wuitens Hamme, better known as KFC VW Hamme or VW Hamme is a Belgian football club from Hamme in Flanders.

History

The association is formed by the merger of two of resettled in Hamme football clubs.

On 2 May 1908, the Vigor Football Club Hamme- sur- Durme was founded in 1922 and joined the Union Royale des Sociétés de Football Association at. In 1934, the association attribute royal in the name. On 14 June 1953, the Jonge Wuitens Voetbal Vereniging was founded as a company sports group based in Hamme company Scaldian Overseas. This occurred in 1958 in the Belgian Football Association.

On 1 July 1972, the merger between the two clubs was completed and the club got its current name. Like the previous clubs the club played first in the minor leagues.

In 1997 the club with eleven points clear of Sint Niklaas champion in Division A of the third division and was thus increased in the first time in the Division 2 on. However, the team took the 16th place there and had to play in the relegation games. After two defeats immediate re descent was made.

1998/99 VW Hamme missed fourth direct re-emergence, in the following season as runner managed to qualify for the play-offs. Here, however, the club failed after a 2:3 defeat in the first leg with a 2-2 draw in the return leg at OC Charleroi. 2001, the team was only ninth in 2002 succeeded behind SV Zulte -Waregem again the runner-up. With four wins the catchment succeeded in relegation playoff, where rival KV Oostende was clearly beaten 4-1 and so it was clear to return to the second division.

With an eleventh VW Hamme managed to avoid relegation. In the following two years, the team reached the same place in the table. The following year the club reached the ninth chart the rise of games where after three wins and three losses, the third rank behind Lierse SK ( 12 points) and KVSK United Overpelt - Lommel ( 10 points) was achieved.
