Kaliese Spencer

Kaliese Spencer ( born May 6, 1987 in Savanna -La- Mar) is a Jamaican athlete who specializes in the 400 - meter hurdles.

International circuit she first caught attention during the IAAF World Junior Championships in 2006 in Beijing. There she won the 400 - meter hurdles in a time of 55.11 s In addition, she won with the Jamaican 4 x 400 - meter relay bronze medal.

After she was eliminated at the World Athletics Championships 2007 in Osaka in the hurdles in the semifinal round, she tried in the 2008 season as early as the beginning of their career mainly on the flat 400 m and partly also in the 800 -meter run. However, at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009, she launched 400m hurdles again and finished with a time of 53.56 s fourth place. She was also a member of the Jamaican 4 x 400 - meter relay that won the silver medal in Berlin. Spencer himself, however, was only used in the qualifying round.

In June 2011, she was Jamaican champion in the 400 - meter hurdles. At the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu, she reached the final in this discipline, finishing with a time of 54.01 s fourth place. In 2012 she finished fourth at the Olympic Games in London.

Kaliese Spencer is a member of the MVP Track & Field Club and is coached by Stephen Francis, who also oversees the Olympic champion Melaine Walker.
