Kalifa Kambi

AM Khalifa Kambi also Kalifa Kambi ( MAY 1955 in Karantaba, † December 20, 2011 in Bakau ) was Deputy Minister of Agriculture ( english Deputy Minister of Agriculture) of the West African country of Gambia.

Kambi visited the Primary School 1962-1968 and 1968-1969, the Secondary School. 1969-1974 he attended the Armitage High School. In the Gambia College, which he attended from 1975 to 1977, he obtained a Certificate in General Agriculture. In Tanzania 1988-1990 he acquired a diploma in adult education. His MA in Rural Social Development at the University of London he back in 1996 until 1997.

As an agricultural consultant in the North Bank region, he began in 1977 in the civil service and worked here until 1982. From 1983 to 1987 he served as a trainer at the agricultural education department of the Department of Agriculture. As director of the Chamen Self- Development and Training Centre, he was employed from 1992 to 2002.

In the legislative period from 2002 to 2007, he was elected representative of the Kiang West District of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC ) in the National Assembly. In the re-election in 2007 he lost his seat to the opposition. During his time as an MP, he was chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development. In the period from the same deputy (2004-2009) of the Pan-African Parliament of the African Union. In the period from March 2004 to January 2007 was the Committee on Rural Economy, Agriculture and Natural Resources.

On 23 April 2010 Kambi by President Yahya Jammeh to the Cabinet as Deputy Minister of Agriculture (English Deputy Minister of Agriculture) was appointed and was the successor of Momodou Seedy Kah, who goes into the diplomatic service.

Kambi died on 20 December 2011 at the Medical Research Council.
