Kalix Municipality

Kalix is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Norrbotten County and the historic province of Norrbotten. Its main town, Kalix.

Geography

The municipality extends about 50 km along the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia and from the coast along the Kalixälven about 50 miles inland.

Other towns are Bredviken, Båtskärsnäs, Gammelgrden, Karl Borg, Morjäv, Nyborg, Påläng, Risögrund, Rolfs - Grytnäs, Sangis, Tore and others. Through the community lead the European Routes 4 and 10

Economy

Wood-processing industry is the traditional industry of the community. In the capital there are also facilities of the Provincial Parliament.
