Kang Woo-suk

Kang Woo- seok ( born November 10, 1960 in Gyeongsan, Gyeonggi -do) sometimes written Kang Woo- suk is a South Korean director and producer of commercially -oriented films. He was elected by Cine21 the most powerful man of the South Korean film industry in 1999. Its major production company, Cinema Service was acquired by CJ Entertainment 2004.

Life

As a director, he had his greatest success in 1994 with Two Cops and 2004 Silmido at the time the most successful Korean film of all time with over 10 million viewers. The Public Enemy series about a headstrong police is sometimes compared with Dirty Harry. A lawsuit filed by relatives of members of Silmido, characteristic name of the command unit 684 for infiltration by North Korea was dismissed in 2005.
