Kaori Yuki

Kaori Yuki (Japanese由 贵 香 织 里, Yuki Kaori, born December 18 in Tokyo, Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist.

Life

When her name is - as with many Japanese manga artist - an artist name. Your real name and year of her birth is not publicly known. Even otherwise, it is regarded as more public relations and travel shy, and she is also indicative of marginal notes in their manga itself. Their only previous official visits abroad, she spent both times in Germany and indeed during the Animagic 2001, Koblenz and at the Leipzig Book Fair 2006.

In a talent contest of Hakusensha publishing house Kaori Yuki reached the semifinals and was thus able to gain first artistic experiences. As a result, they wrote for the publisher's manga magazine Hana to Yume from 1987 to 1993 several short stories. Launched so far for their 1994 greatest success and eventual breakthrough Angel Sanctuary interrupted even their first series Count Cain ( later renamed in God Child ) for several years. Angel Sanctuary her is so far the only manga, of which there are an adaptation as a three-part OVA anime. She was also responsible for the character design of the computer game My Love, which also exists an anime.

The traditional shōjo magazine Hana to Yume (Eng. "Flowers and Dreams" ) of Hakusensha, which is aimed primarily at Japanese high school students and is therefore also the main target of Kaori Yuki's manga, they remained until the creation of the new manga monthly magazine Aria faithful to the competition Publisher Kodansha in 2010. Since then, her latest work Iiki no ki appears just there. There are now as good as any of their stories in Japan in tankōbon form.

In Germany, the mangaka just enjoys among their teenage female fans, a particularly high reputation, whatever it turns out that the Carlsen publishing house had translated all of their works into German so far, what else hardly succeeded another manga artists.

In small asides addition to the actual panel, it addresses readers' letters and tells of her second great passion: music. Some characters in their manga have names of artists ( bands ) and movie characters. The mood of their work is often quite gloomy and takes many elements of the gothic culture, including clothing made of black leather and the recurring angels and demons. In recent years, the influence of Japanese and Tokyo Gothic Lolita subculture on their drawing style, as in Fairy Cube or Perfume Master, more and more came to the fore.
