The Greek Karpathos Airport (Greek Κρατικός Αερολιμένας Καρπάθου; Airport Code: LGKP, IATA code: AOK) is about 15 km from the main town of Karpathos on the south- western end of the island of Karpathos and has been in operation since 1970. Today's airstrip at 2.4 km in length and 30 m width was completed in 1986.

At the airport no instrument landing system is installed. In addition to the non-directional beacon previously available since July 1, 2010 is also a VOR VOR for landings from both directions. Due to the strong northwest winds due to the Meltemi almost all landings are carried out on runway 30 during the summer season from the east. Determines the Scirocco in the spring and autumn the prevailing wind direction, the approach takes place from the west on runway 12, the airport has no fixed Betriebs-/Öffnungszeiten. Airlines and destinations

Scheduled flights of Olympic Air connect Karpathos all year with Athens, Rhodes, Kasos and Sitia. Between April and October also end up in Karpathos charter and low cost airlines. In the summer of 2011 machines among other things, Munich, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Vienna, Linz, Graz, Oslo, Copenhagen, Milan, Verona, Rome and Amsterdam come. Equipment

There is no bus service to the airport. The approach is therefore to be your own car or taxi. Package tourists will be picked up by buses of tour operators and car rental can be brought to order at the airport.

In July 2009, was put into operation as a replacement for the existing terminal building a new terminal, which is the requirements of a modern airport operations. Arrival and departure areas are separated within the building. In addition, an automatic baggage handling system was installed. In the public sector, several check- in desk, a shop and switch some car rental companies are located. Behind the security checkpoint includes a large waiting room that has multiple outputs to the air side. Here also a duty- free shop was established. The terminal has no jetways, so passengers will be transported to and from the aircraft by bus.

On the landward side of the terminal is preceded by a right of way and a car park.
