Kashiwazaki, Niigata
Kashiwazaki (Japanese柏 崎 市, - shi) is a city in the interior of the Niigata prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.
Geography
Kashiwazaki is located west of Nagaoka and northeast of Joetsu at the Sea of Japan.
History
The city of Kashiwazaki was established on 1 April 1940.
On 16 July 2007, the Niigata Chuetsu - coast 2007 earthquake shook the city. In Kashiwazaki it reached the highest value on the JMA scale.
