Käthe Kollwitz Prize

The Käthe Kollwitz Prize is an award in Germany and named after the artist Käthe Kollwitz Art Prize.

The 1960 founded by the former Academy of Arts of the German Democratic Republic award is presented annually by the Academy of Arts ( Berlin) awarded to a visual artist, who is honored for a work or his oeuvre. The prize is awarded by a jury whose members are newly diagnosed each year. The award also an exhibition in the building of the Academy is connected. Since 1992, the prize money in the amount of 12,000 euros (as of 2009 ) of the Cologne District Savings Bank, the wearer of the Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Cologne, co-financed.
