Kathy Smallwood-Cook

Kathy Cook (actually Kathryn Jane Smallwood, born Smallwood, May 3, 1960 in Winchester ) is a British sprinter and Olympic medalist.

She won at the Commonwealth Games in 1978 in Edmonton in the 4 x 100 -meter relay gold medal, 1982 in Brisbane, the silver medal in the 200 m and 4 × 100 m again the gold medal, and in 1986 in Edinburgh silver medal in the 200 m, in the 400 -meter run the bronze medal behind Debbie Flintoff (AUS) and Jillian Richardson (CAN ) and the gold medal in the 4 x 100 m and the silver medal in the 4 x 400 - meter relay. Olympic medals she reached at the Games in Moscow in 1980 with a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 - meter relay with teammates Heather Hunte, Beverley Goddard and Sonia Lannaman and at matches in 1984 in Los Angeles with bronze medals in the 400m behind the two U.S. Valerie Brisco -Americans hooks ( gold) and Chandra Cheese Borough ( silver) and 4 × 100 m along with their teammates Simmone Jacobs, Callender (ex Goddard ) and Heather Oakes.

Kathy Cook started for the Reading Club Athletic. Like her husband, the former sprinter Garry Cook, she is a physical education teacher at the Mayfield Preparatory School in Walsall. The couple has three children.
