Kazuyoshi Oimatsu

Oimatsu Kazuyoshi (Japanese老 松 一 吉) ( born October 30, 1911 in Tonami, Toyama Prefecture, † 24 March 2001) was a Japanese figure skater and figure skating coach.

Oimatsu was a pioneer of Japanese figure skating sport. He started for the skating club Osaka. In 1931, he was a Japanese master. In 1932 he took part in the Olympic Games in Lake Placid and finished it in ninth place. In addition to Ryuichi Obitani he was there the first Japanese who participated in the Olympics in figure skating. At the World Championships in Montreal, he was seventh little later. International in appearance, he entered the next time in the Olympic year 1936. Occupied here at the European Championships, were admitted to the non-Europeans, the ninth. At the World Cup he was 15, and the Olympic Games in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he finished in 20th place.

After the Second World War, he ended his active career as an athlete, became a coach and gave the knowledge he had gained from his international appearances, on. He was one of the few who witnessed the return of the Olympic Games to Lake Placid in 1980.
