Ken Owen

Ken Owen ( born April 23, 1970 in Wirral ) is an English metal drummer. He became a co-founder of the extreme metal band Carcass fame.

Biography

Ken Owen was born in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside. Since the Primary School he is with Bill Steer, later co-founder of Carcass, friends. As a teenager, Owen decided to play the drums to his models he counts Dean Castronovo and Neil Peart. In 1985, he was among the founders of the band Carcass. In the same year he met at a record store in Liverpool Jeff Walker of the Electro Hippies know, the 1987 bassist with Carcass. Owen took to the first resolution of 1996 Carcass on five studio albums with the band. After the separation, he teamed up with Jeff Walker, the project Blackstar. Black Star played a mixture of traditional heavy metal and hard rock, but separated after publication of the 1997 album Barbed Wire Soul again. In 1999, Owen suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and fell into a coma for ten months. After a successful brain surgery in March 2000, a hospital stay followed until February 2001. Thereafter, a rehabilitation process, during which he had to learn to walk again and train your short term memory began. In the spring of 2003 he again began playing the drums and contributed some vocals to Jeff Walker's solo album Welcome to Carcass Cuntry at. After Carcass had reunited in 2007, Owen appeared in a few shows, for example, Wacken Open Air 2008 on despite his health problems, with a drum solo.
