Kennet District
Kennet was a District in the county of Wiltshire in England, which was named after the River Kennet. Administrative headquarters was Devizes; other important places were Marlborough, Pewsey and Ramsbury.
The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Boroughs Devizes and Marlborough and the Rural Districts Devizes, Marlborough and Pewsey and Ramsey.
On 1 April 2009, in addition Kennet all other Districts in Wiltshire were abolished and incorporated into the new unitary authority of Wiltshire.
