West Wiltshire

West Wiltshire was a District in the county of Wiltshire in England. Administrative headquarters was Trowbridge; other important places were Atworth, Bradford-on -Avon, Longleat, Melksham, Warminster and Westbury.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the urban districts of Bradford- on-Avon, Melksham, Trowbridge, Warminster and Westbury Rural District and the Bradford and Melksham and Warminster and Westbury.

On April 1, 2009, among West Wiltshire, all other Districts in Wiltshire were abolished and incorporated into the new unitary authority of Wiltshire.
