Kent Taylor

Taylor worked as a window dresser in a ladies clothing store before he was discovered for the film. He played in almost 150 feature films, most of which were B-movies of the 1930s and played supporting roles in films by renowned studios such as I'm No Angel, Death Takes a Holiday, Payment on Demand, and Track the Man Down. In the 1950s, his career reached its peak when he took over the title role in the crime drama television series Boston Blackie and has appeared in 58 episodes. Then he played again the title role in the Western series Rough Riders and appeared in 39 episodes. This, he became known nationally and was very popular. In his last years he played in a rather second-rate horror movies, like Satan 's Sadists or Blood of Ghastly Horror.

Along with Clark Gable was Kent Taylor inspiration for the " civil " name Superman's Clark Kent.

He was married since 1930 with Augusta Kulek, with whom he had three children. His grave is located in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
