Kerfourn

Kerfourn ( Breton: Kerforn ) is a commune of 836 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association, Pontivy Communauté.

Geography

Kerfourn located in the north of the department of Morbihan and belongs to the Pays de Pontivy.

Neighboring municipalities are Gueltas in the northeast, Crédin in the east, in the southeast and south and Naizin Noyal- Pontivy in the west, northwest and north.

The place is a bit away from roads for inter-regional traffic. The most important road is the D700/D768 (formerly Route nationale 168), several kilometers west passes the community.

Along with numerous ponds, several streams ( Belle Chère, Le Guern and Le Lindreu ) the most important bodies of water. This form simultaneously also partly the municipal boundary.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro Gwened (French Vannetais ) and within this region to region Bro Pondi (French Pays de Pontivy ) and shares his story. It was created in 1839 by the fragmentation of former town Noyal- Pontivy in five municipalities.
