Kętrzyn County

The powiat Kętrzyński is a powiat ( county ) in the northern part of the Polish Warmia - Masuria with the county town of Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ). The powiat counts over an area of ​​1212.97 km ² around 65,000 inhabitants.

Geography

The largest lakes are the lakes in the powiat Legińskie, Dejnowa, Widryńskie, Iławki, Silec and Mój, each with over 50 hectares of water.

Geographical Location

The powiat is clockwise from the Powiats Węgorzewo ( Angerburg ) in the Northeast, Giżycko ( Lötzen ) Mrągowo (Sensburg ), Olsztyn ( Olsztyn ) and Bartoszyce ( Bartenstein ) enclosed and bordered to the north, which belongs to Russia Kaliningrad Oblast. It is slightly larger than the former district Rastenburg - it also includes the northeastern part of the former county Rößel and part of the former county Gerdauen.

Geology
