Kimmo Lotvonen

Kimmo Lotvonen ( born January 11, 1976 in Oulu) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who was most recently at Leksand IF in the HockeyAllsvenskan under contract.

Career

Kimmo Lotvonen began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Kärpät Oulu, in which he was active until 1994. He then moved to Lukko Rauma, for the first team he made his debut in the SM- liiga was in season 1995/96 and was in his rookie year with Rauma third in the Finnish Championship. After six years at Lukko signed Lotvonen 2001 a contract with their league rivals Kärpät Oulu in whose offspring he had begun his career. With Kärpät was Lotvonen in the 2002/03 season runner-up, and in 2004 and 2005 two consecutive time Finnish Champion. In addition, the defender reached with his team in 2005, the final of the IIHF European Champions Cup in which he the Russian Avangard Omsk HK opponents defeated with Oulu in the extension with 1:2.

After Lotvonen in the season 2005/ 06 for Leksand IF aground in the Swedish Elitserien, with whom he then descent into HockeyAllsvenskan, he was in the following season required by their league rivals Timrå IK, for whom he played three years. For the 2009/10 season the Finn returned to Leksand IF. In his first season he was set as a regular force and failed with the team in the Kvalserien to the rise in the Elitserien. The following season, he came less often to the course and after the re- ascent missed his contract was not renewed.

Internationally

For Finland Lotvonen took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 1996, where he finished sixth with his team.
