King's Quest III

King's Quest III: To Heir Is Human is the third part of Sierra Entertainment (formerly Sierra On-Line) created series King's Quest. It was the first game in the series, in which King Graham is not the character. This is the case even in five of the eight episodes.

Action

King's Quest III does not play like the first two games of the series in Daventry but in the country Llewdor where a boy named Gwydion from an old mage named Manannan is being held. Gwydion was once kidnapped from Daventry when he was still a little boy. He must take care of the house and the well-being of the magician, clean, cook and care for the animals. Here, the boy finally discovers a secret room in which the magician kept his magical ingredients and there is also a book of incantations. This room can only be entered when Manannan has left the house for a while. All magic items takes Gwydion in itself, he must hide in his room before he returns. With the help of a magic card, the player can teleport to all the places that are known to him already. This, too, but only if the wizard is asleep or away from home. Only when we succeed the boy to turn Manannan into a cat he is free and able to return to Daventry. It turns out that the boy Gwydion in truth Alexander, the missing son of King Graham and Queen Valanice is.

The game has a simple copy; you can correctly answer it only if you know the page numbers in Manannans book with the individual spells.

The title of this episode is a pun on the saying To Err is Human ( Eng.: To err is human ). The words heir ( Heritage) and err ( err ) sound similar in some English accents.
