Kinglake (Victoria)

Kinglake is a town in the Australian state of Victoria, located in the Murrindindi Shire. In the census in 2006 Kinglake had 1482 inhabitants. The city was largely destroyed by a bushfire in February 2009.

Geography

King Lake is 65 km north-east of Melbourne in the Great Dividing Range to the mountains. The Kinglake Ranges reach a height of 525-610 m above sea level. From Kinglake consists of a view of Melbourne's skyline in the southwest and over the vineyards of the Yarra Valley in the south.
