Kirnberg an der Mank
Kirnberg an der Mank is a municipality with 1035 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Melk in Lower Austria.

Geography
Kirnberg an der Mank is located south of Melk in the Most district in Lower Austria on the southern edge of the Alpine foothills. The area of the municipality covers 17.66 square kilometers. 17.1 percent of the area is forested.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Furth, Kirn Berg and Mayer courtyards.
History
In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place told the eventful history of Austria.
Kirn mountain is a church hamlet, which was mentioned in a document 1121/28. The foundation of the town was carried by the Lords of Plankenstein in the 12th century. 1338 the site was documented in a separate parish.
Population Development
According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1009 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 987 inhabitants in 1981 and 918 in 1971, 863 inhabitants.
Policy
The council has 19 seats, mayor of the municipality is Leopold Lienbacher, Vice Mayor Franz Ferdinand Kerschner and chief officer is Neuhauser. In the municipal elections of 2005, the ÖVP reached 12, the list Kirnberg 2000 ( K2000 ) 5 and the SPÖ 2 mandates. In the municipal elections of 2010, the ÖVP candidate together with K2000 under ÖVP list - K2000, reaching 17 seats.
