Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte

Kitcharao is a town in the province of Agusan del Norte on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines.

The municipality is located in the north of the province Kitcharao Agusan del Norte, bordering the province of Surigao del Norte.

Through adoption of Republic Act No.. 3842 by the Congress of the Philippines on August 29, 1963 Kitcharao independent municipality. Kitcharao belonged as a barrio before the township Jabonga.

Most residents of the borough are from Luzon and Visayas immigrant Tagalogs, Ilongos, Warays, Cebuanos and Boholanos, a few residents belong to the indigenous people of the ethnic groups Mamanwa and Manobo.

In 2005, the barangays Crossing and Songkoy were created.
