Magallanes (Agusan del Norte)

Magallanes is a Philippine municipality in the province of Agusan del Norte.

Geography

Marshes are characteristic of a large part of the township. Magallanes is located at the confluence of two major rivers in the province of Agusan del Norte, Agusan and the Baug. Much of the area is below sea level, the central place is therefore protected by dikes. To the north- west, the land rises to 99 m above sea level on Mount TAOD - oy and 162 m above sea level at Mount Panaytayon.

Magallanes is politically divided into eight barangays. Six of these barangays are located on the mainland. Seven are on the coast and one inland.
