Kiyomi Niwata

Kiyomi Niwata (Japanese庭 田 清 美, Niwata Kiyomi, born December 10, 1970 in Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture) is a Japanese professional triathlete, three -time Olympian ( 2000, 2004 and 2008), multiple national champion (2004, 2005 and 2006), Aquathlon Asia -Oceania champion and triathlon champion in 2009 and one of the most experienced triathlon pioneers.

Career

Kiyomi Niwata and Anja Dittmer are the only triathletes who participated in all three Olympic triathlon competitions. In Sydney and Athens Niwata was the 14th and last in Beijing ninth.

In the 14 years from 1997 to 2010 Niwata participated in 99 ITU competitions in part, thus holds a world record and it reached 39 while the top ten places. In 2010, it counts with 39 years still unbroken a world leader. She won as it were their home World Cup in Ishigaki and disputes with Ai Ueda as Japanese elite triathlete the World Cup series.

Niwatas trainer is the American Col Stewart and now lives in Chiba, near Tokyo.
