Kléber de Carvalho Corrêa

Kléber de Carvalho Corrêa called Kléber, ( born April 1, 1980 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian football player who is under contract with SC Internacional since 2009. His preferred position is left defender.

Career

Kléber beagann his career at Corinthians, where he belonged to the senior squad in 1998. With Corinthians he won in 1998 and 1999, the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol, 2002, the Copa do Brasil, 1999, 2001 and 2003, the State of São Paulo Championship, 2000 FIFA Club World Cup and 2002 Torneio Rio - São Paulo. For the 2003/ 04 season he was loaned to Hannover 96, but can not be firmly committed him. Instead, the FC Basel bought him and endowed him with a three-year contract. With FC Basel he was Swiss champion in the season 2004/ 05. However, after just one year, he left the FC Basel and went back to Brazil to play from now on for Santos. With FC Santos, he won the 2006 and 2007 State Championship of São Paulo and was awarded in these years with the Bola de Prata as the best left-back of the Brazilian league. In January 2009 he moved to SC Internacional, with whom he won the 2009 state championship of Rio Grande do Sul and was awarded for the third time with the Bola de Prata.

With his club SC Internacional, he won the Copa Libertadores 2010.

Kléber debuted on January 31, 2002 at the international match against Bolivia in the Brazilian national football team. With Brazil, he took part in the Confederations Cup in 2003, where he was employed in all parts of Brazil. After nearly four years of not playing for the national team, he was appointed the first time in March 2007 and also took part in the Copa América 2007, which he won with Brazil. On 12 September 2007 he scored in a friendly against Mexico 's first goal. In June 2009 he took part in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, which he won with Brazil.
